  The first mp3 player I bought was an apple ipod but after seeing my friends iriver H320, I knew I had to change. It has so much more to offer. Firstly it comes with real colours (not the pastelly girly ipod colours). The ipod has girly pink, girly green, girly blue and silver. Real men will definately prefer the iRiver. It comes with a more stylish option of charcoal grey, dark blue, silver and a deep red. The quality is much better sound-wise and the headphone quality is 10x better than the pants headphones you get with the ipod. But not only that, you get FM radio and a dictaphone which is pretty cool. The colour screen also allows you to add your favourite photos. You also get a protective skin as well along with an normal mains charger. Ipod doesn't do any of these- you have to buy them seperately which really puts the cost up.
  Why do people buy ipods rather than iRiver. The only reason I can think of is if you are girly whirly and havn't a clue (ipod is easier to use with itunes software etc) or the fact that people simply havn't heard of it. Apple have been advertising ipods everywhere for a long time now as iRiver has only just launched the H10 a few months ago and they have not yet started a marketing campaign anywhere near the level of Apple.
  Another positive is the removable battery and the option to buy extra batteries. This is perfect for long journeys etc. Ipod users continuously moan about the battery life being poor....and there's nothing they can do but go complain to Apple directly.
  I can seriously recommend this to anyone who can distinguish quality in a product. Apple ipods are the Britney Spears of the MP3 world. iRiver is Eric Clapton. So if you have a bit of intelligence and want more quality in a product, this is the product you should buy. The only drawback with the H10 is the slight glitch in the software (this can be fixed pretty quickly by using the firmware upgrade on iriver website) that means albums will not play in track order but in alphabetical order. But if this is an issue to someone, they really should be buying a 20GB MP3 player as whole albums will fill up your 5GB in no time. Once again- if you want a 20GB- I would advise the H320. Amazing piece of kit.
